We’re pleased to announce that we are exhibiting at this years’ Offshore Energy Conference and Exhibition in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It’s the first time that Stewart-Buchanan Gauges has had a presence at the event and our exhibition team will be Sales Director, John O’Donnell, Export Manager, Russell Robinson and Marketing Manager, Robert Baird.
The two-day event takes place from 10-11 October 2017 and includes a conference addressing the technical, operational and commercial challenges associated with future growth in the offshore energy sector. Organisers are expecting up to 12,000 visitors to attend over the course of the two days. While one of our core markets, the oil and gas sector, features strongly, the exhibition and conference also covers offshore wind and marine energy. The offshore renewable energy sector is one that we have worked with recently and we’re keen to increase our presence in this growing market. We will be showcasing our relevant gauge and valve products on our stand.
If you’re planning to attend, please come and say hello! Our stand number is 1.095, conveniently located near the bar area in Hall 1 and you can find it on the exhibition map here. You can also find out more about the event on the Offshore Energy 2017 website.
Or, if you are attending the event and would like to book some time with a member of our team, please get in touch.
Do your pressure gauges suffer with the problem of excess vibration, rapid surge or loss in pressure?
Exposure to excessive or continuous vibration is one of the biggest causes of pressure gauge failure, causing mechanical parts to wear out more quickly. It can also make it difficult to take accurate readings from a gauge with a fluttering pointer.
At Stewart-Buchanan Gauges, we’ve developed our innovative VIBRAGAUGE ® technology to address this problem. Specially designed to slow down the fluctuations of the pointer spindle, the VIBRAGAUGE ® prevents excess vibration, surges or losses in pressure from causing rapid wear on the quadrant. A great alternative to glycerine filled instruments, the VIBRAGAUGE ® can be used in any environment where pumps, motors and other equipment are causing high levels of vibration. The life of your gauge is greatly extended, delivering cost savings to your business in the long term.
The VIBRAGAUGE ® is available in all our bourdon tube gauges. Take a look at the data sheet for more information.
At Stewart-Buchanan Gauges, we work with customers from many industry sectors, all with unique needs and requirements. We have recently completed a large, prestigious project for a pharmaceutical company with very specific industrial needs.
The scale of the project meant that it included the manufacture and supply of products from our entire range, including thermometers, pressure gauges, diaphragm seal gauges and third-party pressure transmitters.
We work hard to meet or, where possible, exceed customer expectations and this project provided us with its own set of unique requirements. In response to customer specifications, pressure transmitters were fitted with a complete bespoke range of instrument manifolds, including specially designed close-coupled integral double block and bleed flanged manifolds in both stainless steel and the more durable Hastelloy.
With pressure to complete this project on time, we were delighted to be able to deliver all items to the customer ahead of schedule.

Our Managing Director Stephen Nicol, and Sales Director John O’Donnell took the opportunity to join Michael Hamilton and Tom Teachworth of Stewarts-USA on their exhibition stand at the recent Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2017. The OTC conference is the oil and gas industry’s largest equipment exhibition and was held in Houston, Texas at the beginning of May.
Stewarts-USA is the North and South American distribution and marketing arm for Stewart-Buchanan Gauges products and a key partner for our international operations.
The OTC 2017 event provided Stewarts-USA with a fantastic opportunity to promote our range of products and network with professionals from across the energy industry. It’s a key event for American oil and gas firms and brings together industry leaders, investors, buyers, and entrepreneurs from across the globe to hear the latest scientific and technical advances in the field.
This year, the conference also provided Stephen and John with the chance to support our American partners and experience the OTC event for themselves. The event was a great success and Stephen and John are grateful to Stewarts-USA for letting them help out!
