Job Overview

Stewart Buchanan Gauges is offering an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to begin a career in engineering and manufacturing through our Modern Apprenticeship Programme.
 
This hands-on apprenticeship is designed to develop the practical skills, technical knowledge, and industry experience required to build a successful career within the engineering and manufacturing sector.
 
What You Will Learn
During your apprenticeship, you will be employed and trained across a wide range of manufacturing disciplines, gaining valuable experience in:
  • CNC Turning Machines
  • CNC Milling Machines
  • Manual Turning Lathes
  • CNC Programming
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) and SolidWorks
  • Tool Room Operations
  • Valve and Gauge Assembly
  • Engineering Drawings and Precision Measurement
  • Manufacturing Processes and Quality Standards
You will work alongside experienced engineers and skilled machinists while developing your own technical abilities within a modern engineering environment.
 
College Training & Qualifications
As part of the apprenticeship programme, you will attend Forth Valley College on a day-release basis.
Over the course of the 4-year programme, you will work towards achieving:
  • NC in Mechanical Engineering
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering
In addition, within the workplace you will complete:
  • SCQF Level 6 (SQA) in Mechanical Manufacturing (CNC Machining)
  • SCQF Level 7 (SQA) in Mechanical Manufacturing (CNC Machining)
These qualifications will be supported through our structured in-house training and personal development programme.
