Vacancy: Design Engineer

Stewart Buchanan Gauges Ltd are looking to recruit an experienced Design Engineer.

  • Working as part of the Engineering team and reporting to the Engineering Manager.
  • Creation of 3D Models, 2D CAD drawings for In-house Manufacturing and Customer General Arrangements.
  • Producing Bills of Materials on Microsoft Dynamics AX (MRP system), Design, Testing & Approval of new Products.

Applicants must have experience of Mechanical Design working to recognized standards, involving Pressure Equipment products in an ISO 9001 organization.

Proficient in the use of MS Office based software, Solidworks 3D and DraftSight 2D CAD packages and experience in the use of a MRP system are required.

Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:

  • Pressure Equipment Regulations 2016 and PED 2014/68/EU plus UKCA
  • The requirements of BS EN 837 for Pressure Gauges
  • The requirements of BS EN 13190 for Thermometers
  • The requirements of BS EN 12266 for testing of Needle Valves
  • The requirements of BS EN ISO 17292 for testing of Ball Valves
