Job Overview

Our plant is home to state-of-the-art machinery, including the Manufacturing Resource Planning system (MRP II), 3D designs and CNC milling/turning machines, enabling us to use the very latest manufacturing techniques.

We produce high quality gauges, industrial instrumentation, and valves in a make-to-order environment, and currently we are seeking 2 future operators within our machine shop to become part of our highly skilled team.

What will I learn?
During this apprenticeship you will be employed & trained in various aspects of our manufacturing process in order to develop your own range of skills and knowledge including:

  • CNC turning machines/machining centres
  • Manual lathes
  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Solid works
  • De-burring
  • Tool Room
  • Shank Department
  • Valve/Gauge Assembly

Alongside these you will have the opportunity to attend Forth Valley College (FVC) on a day release, where you will work towards achieving an NC and HNC in Mechanical Engineering over the next 4 years.

Within the workplace you will be working towards achieving an SCQF Level 6 and Level 7 (SQA) in Mechanical Manufacturing (CNC Machining) through our in-house training and personal development program.

What qualifications or qualities are required?
To join our team, we are looking for individuals who possess a positive hard-working attitude, who can also work well in a high-pressure engineering environment. Apprentices who can thrive in problem solving situations and can communicate effectively and efficiently when working within our departments are essential to our company.

To be considered for the role candidates must have achieved a minimum of 3 National 5’s at Grade A or above – with at least 2 of these in Maths, English or a Science. We will also be looking for apprentices with equivalent/relevant experience, such as various Engineering-based subjects and NC’s in engineering.
